Planning your own wedding
Tips For When You Are Planning Your Own Wedding:
Planning your own wedding is something that can be done but keep in mind that it will not be easy. When you decide to plan your own wedding the stress and strain of getting every detail right can be very trying especially when it gets close to that special day. Trying to make everything perfect is something any couple about to get married is going to worry about.
Here are some tips to help make the task of planning your own wedding just a little less nerve racking.
One of the first things most couples want to decide on is the date for the wedding and that can mean knowing where you want the ceremony as well where you want to have the reception to take place. You'll need to make certain these locations are available for what ever date you may choose for the big day.
If you are on a budget, you may want to consider having your wedding on a day that is not the most common choice, such as having your wedding during the middle of the week in the afternoon as opposed to a traditional weekend wedding. No matter what date you choose, you want to make sure that your choice of ceremony and reception are available for that specific time and date. You may want to check with family and close friends to be certain they are also available.
Planning your own wedding also means that you should know exactly how much you able and willing to spend so you can cut back or elaborate on different aspects of the wedding. For example, how much do you want to spend on your wedding dress or bouquet. Are the colors and flowers really important to you or are you willing to go with whatever may be available at that time of year.
Having some idea of what you really want and knowing how much you are willing to spend while planning your own wedding are details that should always be kept in mind. Once you have decided on the date, time, and place, it's time to get to the smaller details that will make your wedding day the most special day of your life.
How many people are you going to invite? This can be influenced by your budget also but remember that you want to have all of the most important people there since this is only going to happen once.
What kind of music do you want to have at the reception? Do you want a DJ or a band? Maybe you want to have hard rock or country but you need to have this all decided on ahead of time. You should make sure the DJ knows just what kind of music you will want at certain times in the reception and if you have a band, you will want to make sure they know what songs to play at certain times as well.
What about the colors? Are you doing a spring, fall, or summer theme? No matter when you plan to get married you will need to decide on certain colors for the flowers and center pieces at the reception. You might want to think about having water filled vased with floating flowers or mirrors that have a simple candle lit in the center.
Who is going to make the invitations? You can be creative and make your own for a lot less than you will pay for professional invitations and most couples know at least one person who likes to create and print out cards so that would be a great way to be original and save money at the same time.
The cake? Do you know someone who likes to make elaborate cakes? More often than not, you can find someone just by asking a few friends but if not, you can always call around to get a decent price on a really great cake. Just make sure you let them know whether you are looking for a strawberry-banana, chocolate-raspberry, or plain and simple type of cake, so you don't end up with something you really don't like.
The most important detail of any wedding is the bride's dress. While you will want to make sure the groom has the perfect tuxedo, finding the dress that makes the bride happy is going to be one of the defining factors in planning your own wedding. Every bride wants to have the perfect dress, so make sure you start shopping for a wedding gown from the start because it really can be a daunting task but once you find the dress that is right for you, it will make it all worth while.
These are just a few tips to help you when you have decided to plan your own wedding but keep in mind that planning your own wedding can be somewhat over whelming and you may want to consider hiring a wedding planner to help you organize everything for one of the most precious days of your life.
