Wedding in Greece

Celebrating their wedding on the sunny beach in Santorini, Crete, Mykonos, Milos... A dream of many bridal couples!

Before being allowed to marry in Greece, the bridal couple has to announce his wedding in the local newspaper. Hereby, the bride's and groom's names have to be included as well as their address.The announcement has to be written in Greek. This entire procedure is an important step in getting the actual marriage licence.

A mayor or priest officiates the wedding. Two witnesses should be present as well as an interpreter if Greek is not spoken by the wedding party.
